Allowed transactions

In this block you will find options to Allow or Block Returns and Exchanges on your Portal.

Allow Returns

If Returns are allowed, the corresponding block will let you set the Return window duration (measured in calendar days from purchase date) during which customers will be allowed to request a return for their order.

It will also let you define whether or not to refund the original order's shipping cost to the customer when they return all its products.

Allow exchanges

If Exchanges are allowed, in this block you will find options to enable/disable Exchanges on your Portal, and, if enabled, the Exchange window duration (measured in calendar days from purchase date) during which customers will be allowed to request to an exchange for their order, and the exchange modes and types that will be allowed on the portal and how to process them.

Depending on your plan the available options will change:

Basic plan

Merchants on the Basic plan will only be able to offer non-instant exchanges for Variants on their Portal. This means that customer will able to request to have the original product they purchased to be exchanged for an equivalent product, in a different size, color, or whatever options that particular product might have defined on the store. (ie: Variants on Shopify), and that they will have to return the products to the store before the new ones are sent their way.

You will be able to define whether or not Reveni should automate the billing and shipping of the new order.

For more info on how what these options do and what we recommend for each use case, please read the Exchanges Configuration Guide.

For Shopify stores, it is also possible to control whether to allow Shopify to send the customer an Order confirmation email once the order for their newly requested product is created or not.

New requested products options

This block allow merchants on the Basic plan to configure what product variants will be shown to customers requesting an exchange:

  • Product variants that at that moment have the same price and what the customer originally paid for the variant they want to return.
  • Product variants that at that moment have the same price as the variant the customer wants to return, even if it's different from what the customer paid originally. (Recommended)

For more info on how what these options do and what we recommend for each use case, please read the Exchanges Configuration Guide.

Advanced plan

Merchants on the Advanced plan will have the same options included in the Basic plan, and will also have the ability to enable Instant Exchanges:

The options for Instant Exchanges work just like the ones explained above for regular Exchanges, but if billing and shipping is set to be automated, there will be no option to choose when to create the new order: It will always be done upon receiving the exchange request, so the new products can be shipped as soon as possible.

Premium plan

Merchants on the Premium plan will have the same options included in the Advanced plan, and will also be able to select what types of exchanges they want to allow in the portal:

  • Exchange for variants
  • Exchange for other products
  • Both

If Exchanges for other products are enabled, customers will be able to search for a completely different product in exchange, and depending on whether they select a cheaper or more expensive product they will be refunded or requested to pay the difference in price to complete their request (when billing and shipping is set to be automated).

It will allow to define what kind of product recommendations will be displayed first when customers select the exchange option for a product.

Information for customers

This section will let you define the URL that will be shown to customers in the Return Portal and Customer Dashboard, so they can find your Return Policy and Help Center.

Automatic cancellation

If the option to Enable automatic cancellation is enabled, this section will allow you to define after how many days non-instant transactions that haven't yet progressed from “In progress” status to be Cancelled automatically, assuming that if the customer hasn't even tried to ship the products back at the store by that time they are probably no longer interested in returning the products/getting an exchange.

Exceptions

This section will allow to define exceptions so ineligible orders and/or products can be returned/exchanged, waive return fees, refund the original order shipping cost too, or limit the available refund methods, if desired.
